Chittoor: Former minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader P Narayana was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police in Hyderabad on Tuesday in connection with the Class 10 question leak. He was arrested by the police following an FIR registered against Minister Narayana in a 10th class paper leak case at Narayana School in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
“We arrested former minister Narayana in Hyderabad this morning in connection with the 10th class paper leak case. We will produce him in court as per the procedure,” said Superintendent of Police Mr. Y. Rishant Reddy. Police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 10 AP public examinations (prevention of misconduct), and Section 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant).
On April 27, police found that a Telugu question paper had been leaked at the school and that the teacher had clicked on the photo of the question paper and shared it on social media. The TDP leader alleged that the arrest of 12 teachers in the case was atrocious and that questionnaires were circulated on WhatsApp groups of young working class Congress party (YSRCP) leaders.On April 30, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) demanded the resignation of state education minister Botsa Satyanarayana over the issue.
