Andhra Pradesh, Eluru: In Eluru district, the “Abhaya Program” focuses on enhancing women’s safety, preventing child marriages, and addressing cyber crimes. As part of this initiative, a woman Sub-Inspector from Eluru II Town Police Station conducted an awareness session at a school, informing students about essential emergency contacts: Dial 112 for immediate police assistance (with a response time under 10 minutes), 9550351100 for WhatsApp support, 1930 for reporting cyber crimes, and 1098 to prevent child marriages, all with confidentiality guaranteed. The session highlighted the “Abhaya Women’s Safety App,” introduced by the District SP to streamline crime response and ensure swift action. Students were also cautioned about cyber fraud risks and encouraged to report any incidents promptly.
