Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: On October 24, 2024, following a tip-off, police conducted vehicle checks. A Mahindra Bolero attempted to evade, leading to a chase before it was abandoned by the driver near Jadupalli village. The Meliyaputti Police subsequently seized 563.920 kg of ganja, packed in 16 bags, from the vehicle and registered a case. After a two-week search and technical tracking, three suspects involved in smuggling ganja from Utuka village, Gajapati district, Odisha, were arrested today. On this occasion, the Srikakulam District SP stated that, following directives from the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the DGP, strict measures are being enforced against individuals involved in the illegal transport, sale, or use of ganja, with serious consequences, including the opening of rowdy sheets as per the law.
