Anantapuram: In Anantapuram district, a person working as a custodian/agent in CMS Info System Ltd., since 3years, who was supposed to safely load cash into ATM machines indulged in a robbery with his friends. On 19.12.2023 with the company’s order, the custodian went to LIC office in Subash Road at around 11.30 am & took Rs.46,55,723/-.
As per the plan he informed to his friends that he is going to IDBI Bank to deposit the cash in LIC’s account. From the cash, he gave Rs.23L to one of his friends & told him to return only Rs.20L. Accordingly, another two of his friends went to IDBI bank & took him to the upper floor of the bank which is under construction & sprinkled pepper in his eyes, put a plaster on his mouth, tied his hands & took remaining Rs.23L from him & escaped. After that, the custodian played a drama through a video call that the robbers snatched money from him. With the complaint of the representative of the said company in Anantapuram I-Town Police Station, the police forming special teams conducted surveillance. With reliable information received, today at 11.30 am, the 4 accused were arrested at KTR function hall on the Gutti Road & recovered Rs.46,55,723/- cash, 2 motor cycles & 6 mobile phones from them.
