East Siang: According to law enforcement authorities, Sanjay Urang, the primary suspect, allegedly murdered his wife at their residence in the Khetri area of Kamrup Metro district, Assam, on March 15. One of the suspects, Babul Ghosh, a resident of Dhemaji district, Assam, is believed to have been involved in the crime as well. Both suspects fled to Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, to evade capture.
Upon discovering their whereabouts, authorities launched an investigation and, using mobile tracking, located them in Pasighat on Sunday. A joint operation with Arunachal Pradesh police led to their arrest on Monday. Following a medical examination, custody of the suspects was transferred to Assam Police since the case was registered there.
Both suspects were employed at a construction agency in the Mebo area of Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district. They sought refuge there after fleeing from Guwahati, but were eventually located through phone surveillance.
The motive behind the murder remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are awaiting the postmortem report for further insights.
