Almora: As part of the ongoing efforts under the Honorable Chief Minister’s ambitious mission to establish a ‘Drug-Free Devbhoomi’ by the year 2025, the Almora District Police have made a significant breakthrough. In a recent operation, they apprehended Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Malla Odkhola Rajpura in Almora District, for possessing 10.65 grams of smack, a potent illegal narcotic. The seized substance is estimated to have a market value exceeding three lakh rupees. This arrest is seen as a major step in the fight against the drug menace plaguing the region. Following the arrest, Gaurav Kumar was formally charged and sent to jail, reinforcing the district’s commitment to curbing drug-related crimes and safeguarding the community from the destructive impact of drug abuse. This action aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision to eradicate drug addiction and trafficking from the region, making Almora District a safer and healthier place for its citizens.
