Palakkad: Following the disappearance of an auto-rickshaw parked near Geetham Bakery on Palakkad Market Road, a report was filed with the North Police. Subsequent investigation revealed Baiju, also known as Kuttappan or Munna, as the prime suspect due to his history of involvement in similar incidents in the vicinity. Despite initial attempts to locate him proving futile, the police intensified their efforts, which lead to Baiju’s arrest on March 9, 2024. Following thorough interrogation, Baiju confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of the stolen auto-rickshaw from a remote location in Olavakode. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Palakkad District Police Chief Mr. R Anand IPS and Palakkad ASP Ms. Ashwati GG IPS, with Palakkad North Police Station Inspector Mr. Vinod Valayatur overseeing the team comprising SI Maraya Aristotle, Rajesh R.S., and SCPOs Mr. Sujesh, Mr. Nissar Ahmed, Mr. Sujeesh, and Mr. Manikandas. Baiju alias Kuttappan alias Munna, a repeat offender with a history of attempted murder, robbery, theft, and assault, was subsequently presented in court and remanded.
