Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada: In Vijayawada Veterinary Colony on the evening of 28.10.2024, around 5:00 PM, a man on an Axis bike approached a woman walking along the road, snatched a gold chain from her neck, and fled the scene.
Following the incident, NTR District Police Commissioner Mr. S.V. Raja Shekhara Babu IPS, along with Crime DCP Mr. K. Thirumaleshwara Reddy IPS and under the direction of Crime ADCP Mr. M. Raja Rao, assigned the Machavaram police to form a special team to investigate. Acting on gathered information, the team arrested the suspect, Lankadi Venkatesh, on S. Eluru Road near a college. Two gold chains, totaling 62 grams and valued at approximately 3.70 lakhs, along with the Axis bike used in the crime, were recovered from him.
