Hyderabad: On 13.06.2024, around 22:30 hrs, Mohd Qutbuddin Quddus was brutally attacked and murdered with knives and sticks by five individuals due to previous enmity, within the jurisdiction of Asifnagar Police Station, Asif Nagar Division, South West Zone, Hyderabad. The incident occurred at Ashurkhana on Asifnagar Main Road. The assailants, identified as Syed Taher, Syed Imran, Syed Aman, Syed Mujaffer, and Shaik Javed, followed Quddus to his brother’s workplace at Asifnagar Cross Road and attacked him, causing fatal injuries. Quddus was immediately taken to Olive Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on 14.06.2024 at about 3:30 AM.
The Asifnagar Police registered a case and initiated an investigation, forming special teams to visit the crime scene and review CCTV footage from Asifnagar Main Road to Asifnagar Cross Road. Through technical analysis, the suspects were apprehended. The accused, all residents of Hyderabad, were identified as: Syed Taher s/o Syed Abdul Gafoor, age 27 years, Syed Imran s/o Syed Abdul Gafoor, age 24 years, Syed Aman s/o Shaik Arif, age 24 years, Syed Mujaffer s/o Syed Abdul Gafoor, age 32 years, and Shaik Javed s/o Shaik Anwar, age 22 years.
Syed Taher, Syed Imran, and Syed Mujaffer are brothers, Syed Aman is their brother-in-law, and Shaik Javed is a friend. They planned the murder to avenge the death of their brother, Syed Mujahed, who was killed by Quddus on 27.08.2023 near Balaji Bar & Restaurant, Jhirra, Asifnagar.
On 16.06.2024, the Asifnagar Police arrested the five suspects and seized the weapons used in the crime. They were presented before the Honourable Court for judicial custody. This case was successfully detected under the supervision of Mrs. Sneha Mehra, IPS, DCP, South Zone Incharge South West Zone, and Mr. Ashfaq, Addl. DCP, South West Zone, with close monitoring by Mr. B. Kishan Kumar, ACP Asif Nagar Division, and the efforts of Mr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Inspector of Police, along with the Asifnagar Police Station staff.
