Assam, Guwahati: In a resounding display of strength, discipline, and sporting excellence, the Assam Police Equestrian Team secured a remarkable 20-medal haul at the prestigious 5th Assam State Equestrian Championship, earning accolades from both state leadership and the public.
The championship witnessed tough competition among the finest riders from across Assam, yet the Assam Police riders stood tall, riding with grace, grit, and determination to bring laurels to the department. Their exceptional performance resulted in: 4 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals, 8 Bronze Medals, and 2 Fourth-Place Finishes.
The team’s participation reflected not only their sporting spirit but also the rigorous training, commitment to excellence, and versatility of the Assam Police force beyond the field of law enforcement. The riders exhibited outstanding skills in dressage, show jumping, and cross-country events, with horses trained under the Assam Police Equestrian Wing.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his pride and admiration for the team’s success, calling it “a shining example of Assam Police’s all-round capability and discipline.”
Director General of Police, Shri Harmeet Singh, IPS, also lauded the team, stating, “Our riders have made the entire police force proud. Their dedication, stamina, and courage reflect the true spirit of Assam Police.”
