Cachar: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police seized a large consignment of Yaba tablets valued at approximately Rs. 12 crore in the Cachar district of Assam. One person was arrested in connection with the operation.
The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced the successful drug bust, praising the state police for their relentless efforts in fighting the drug menace.
Acting on an intelligence tip, Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle in the Islamabad area of the Cachar district, where they seized 40,000 narcotic Yaba tablets. The vehicle used for transportation was also confiscated.
This operation is another step in Assam’s intensified campaign against drug trafficking, reflecting the state government’s commitment to eradicating the drug problem from the state.
