The accused a is a habitual offender who commits theft of the Gold ornaments by diverting the attention of the gullible innocent women by approaching them as Koya Dora and cheat them taking the advantage of their superstitions. He was arrested and recovered 6 Grams of gold ornaments, worth Rs. 40,000/-. Details of the arrested accused: Vibudi Ramulu(64) S/o Eedanna, occ: Priest, R/o Greenland colony, Bhupesh Gupta nagar, Meerpet N/o Nagarkurnool District. The police seized Gold Pusthelu with Rold Gold rope weighing about 06 grams; Saffron Color Shirt, Lungi and towel; Bag contains with Pooja Items and Brown color Diary; One Nokia Mobile Phone.
On 28.01.2023 at 1200 hours on receipt of complaint from Mrs. Cheekatla Veeralaxmi Occ: Housewife, R/o Road Num: 7, Indraprastha Colony. Hasthinapuram Central, LB Nagar stating that on 28.1.2023 in noon hours, when she was at home, a person of age about 60 yrs, wearing the attire of a Saadhu(MONK), went to her house. He got her her to believe that she was having naradrushti in her house and asked her to bring Rice, Water and a bowl. Later made her to keep her Pusthelathadu wg about 06 grams in the rice bowl. Further asked her to bring turmeric from inside, mean while, he fled away along with the Gold Pusthelu of 6 grams.
Brief history of the accused: The accused Vibudi Ramulu hails from Nagarkurnool District and residing at Bhupesh Gupta Nagar, He was an old offender and committed thefts of Gold ornaments by diverting the attention of the victims. Previously he was arrested in Cr.No.22/1988 U/s 109 Cr.PC of Police Station Dindi. Nalgonda District and in Cr. No. 470/2011 U/s 420, 380 IPC of Saroornagar Police Station. Rachakonda. Modus operandi: He chooses the houses where single woman appears and goes into those houses in the attire of SAADHU/KOYADORA that is by wearing Saffron color shirt, lungi and towel by carrying the photo of Goddess and other Pooja items in a bag. He poses himself as Koyadora to the victims. He diverts their attention by making them to believe that they are having NARADRUSTI and make them to keep their Gold ornaments in a rice bowl. Further he asks them to bring turmeric from inside the house to use in pooja. Where the woman goes inside, he decamps with booty by diverting their attention.
The arrest was made under the supervision of Mr. Devendra Singh Chowhan. I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda and under the guidance of Mrs.B. Sai Sree, DCP LB Nagar Zone and Mr. Muralidhar, DCP SOT LB Nagar Zone and under the directions of Mr. P Sreedhar Reddy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, LB Nagar Division, Mr. Venkanna Naik. ACP SOT LB Nagar by Mr. B Anji Reddy, Inspector of Police, Mr. B Upender Rao, Detective-Inspector of Police of LB Nagar PS. Mr. Sudhakar, Inspector of Police, SOT LB Nagar zone. Mr. R. Narender. DSI and crime team of LB Nagar Police Station, Mr. Taki Ali, SI of Police, SOT LB Nagar and his team. All were suitably rewarded.
