West Tripura: On the evening of August 15th, an auto driver made a significant discovery when he found a bag that had been inadvertently left behind by a passenger, Sutapa Saha, at Jirania. Inside the bag was a collection of valuable jewelry, estimated to be worth approximately Rs.3 lakhs. Understanding the immense personal and financial value of the items, the driver acted with commendable integrity. Instead of keeping the bag or ignoring the situation, he took immediate steps to ensure the safety and return of the belongings. He brought the bag directly to the East Agartala Police Station, recognizing that this was the proper course of action.
At the station, the SDPO Sadar and the attending police officers were deeply impressed by the driver’s honesty and sense of responsibility. In a gesture of appreciation and acknowledgment, they organized a small ceremony to felicitate the driver for his noble actions.
