Coimbatore: District Superintendent of Police Mr. Selvanagarathinam IPS, informed the public that 5 six-wheelers were seized by the Coimbatore District Police for anti-alcohol offenses and had been confiscated by the Government. Other Vehicles seized are 17 four-wheelers, 2 three-wheelers and 133 two-wheelers with a total of 157 vehicles in the same condition on 08.12.2021 at 10.00 am at the Coimbatore District Armed Forces Grounds, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
The SP has announced that these vehicles will be auctioned at the Prohibition Enforcement Office at Pollachi Venkatesa Shoes, Kovilpalayam Devampalayam Prohibition Enforcement Office at Balaji Nagar, Sulur, The persons have been detained at Madukkarai, KKC, Chettipalayam, Thondamuthur, Annur, Mettupalayam, Pollachi taluka, Komangalam, Negamam, and Valparai police stations. Bidders can apply until 07.00 pm on 07.12.2021 at their respective Prohibition Enforcement Divisions and the vehicles parked at police stations can be visited. The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police said that once the vehicles are auctioned off, they have to pay the full amount and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in cash to the government on the same day to get the vehicle.
