Ramanathapuram: Ramanathapuram district Superintendent of police Tr.Omprakash Meena, IPS, have launched a special intervention campaign to create awareness on 20.07.2018 among school students about sexual abuse and provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act – 2012 (POCSO).
Ramanathapuram district, Women Inspectors of Police had started an awareness campaign regarding POCSO Act in all schools. Every day they approached one school in the Subdivision. They are focusing on the provisions of the act with examples of practical case studies. In the act if victim is below age of 18, this act will attract automatically whether the offence is with consent or without consent.
In this campaign till now, the women Inspectors of Police have covered 15,248 students from 56 schools in the district. For these campaign students, teachers and parents gave their full co-operation.
