Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh: Under the directions of District Superintendent of Police G. Bindu Madhav, awareness programmes on POCSO, new criminal laws, and helmet safety were conducted across various police station limits in Kakinada district.
Police teams organized interactive sessions for school and college students, as well as members of the public, focusing on key legal provisions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and recently introduced criminal laws. Officers explained the importance of safeguarding children, reporting offences, and understanding citizens’ legal rights and responsibilities.
In addition, special drives were conducted at major traffic congestion points to educate motorists about mandatory helmet usage and road safety norms. Drivers were sensitized on the life-saving importance of wearing helmets and adhering to traffic regulations.
The initiative reflects the district police’s proactive approach toward legal literacy, child protection, and road safety awareness through sustained community engagement.
