Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS while paying tributes to the visionary leader said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar born on 14th April 1891, in Mhow, grew up amidst humiliation and struggle but emerged strong and studied at universities in the United States of America (USA) and Germany, joined the Baroda public service but appalled at the discrimination still being faced, stepped into the freedom struggle as well as the crusade against untouchability. He made the remarkable Pune Pact with Mahatma Gandhi and attended the Round Table Conferences which shaped the course of the freedom struggle. He took his last breath in 1956 but his life, his efforts, his teachings through his books still inspire and influence us even today, said CP Rachakonda.
Mr. Sudheer Babu IPS, Addl CP Rachakonda while paying tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar, reminded that a great leader like Ambedkar should not be viewed just as a leader of scheduled castes but one who fought his entire life through all his means for the upliftment of any person who is downtrodden or discriminated. Essentially, he stood for equality, liberty, and justice for all and he gave us all the same principles through the Indian Constitution thereby setting an example to many countries of the world. He added that Dr. Ambedkar had a vision for women empowerment and stood up to break down the barriers in the way of the advancement of women in India and he is probably the only minister in the world who resigned for not being able to pass the Hindu Code Bill which sought to give inheritance rights to women.
