Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: In a decisive move to maintain peace and public safety, Basantpur Police Station has taken strong action against 12 anti-social elements involved in creating nuisance and disturbing law and order in the city. The police conducted targeted enforcement under the Arms Act, Excise Act, and other restrictive sections and produced all the arrested accused before the Hon’ble Court.
Action Under the Arms Act
Police arrested two individuals who were threatening the public with sharp weapons and spreading fear in the locality. A sharp knife used in the crime was recovered from their possession.
Accused:
Deependra alias Mashan Gond, 23 years, resident of Bengali Chaal, Basantpur PS
Goli alias Vicky, 21 years, resident of Indira Nagar, Basantpur PS
Both the accused have been sent to jail following judicial orders.
Action Under the Excise Act
Police also arrested individuals who were illegally serving alcohol and providing space for liquor consumption, promoting anti-social behavior in the area.

Rajendra Sahu, 59 years, resident of Motipur, Chikhli PS

Restrictive Action against Public Disturbance
Police also took strict action against individuals who were indulging in hooliganism, causing ruckus, and disturbing peace.

Sohail Singh, 19 years, resident of Motipur Police Post, Chikhli

Basantpur Police Station has reiterated that strict and continuous action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal activities, nuisance, or disruption of public peace.
