Karnataka, Bengaluru: The prestigious 25th All India Police Lawn Tennis Championship is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, November 26, at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) Stadium and Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. CISF Special Director General Praveer Ranjan will inaugurate the four-day tournament, while Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda will preside over the closing ceremony.
The tournament has attracted 124 players from 21 teams representing various state and central police forces, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka State Police, CRPF, Intelligence Branch, and National Security Force. According to CISF IGP Joseph Mohan, the championship will feature singles, doubles, and senior categories, with the winning team receiving a championship trophy. The event aims to promote inter-force relationships, provide stress relief through sports, and showcase police personnel’s sporting talents. IGP Mohan emphasized that sports are increasingly encouraged during police training, recognizing their role in maintaining officers’ physical and mental well-being while fostering healthy competition among different police forces across the country.
