Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police have arrested three youths with 125 kg of cannabis smuggled from Andhra Pradesh. Kazhakoottam police with the help of Special Action Group against Organized Crime Team nabbed three persons with cannabis smuggled in two luxury cars from Andhra Pradesh. Unnikrishnan (33) alias Kavuvila Unni, also known as Kavuvila Unni, was arrested in connection with the shooting of a cannabis wholesaler at Pallichal in Thiruvananthapuram district and adjoining districts.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Ankit Ashok, a narcotics cell was set up as part of a recent cannabis case in the city. A special team led by Sheen Tharayil, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Narcotics Cell, conducted an ongoing probe into the recent cannabis cases in the city. During the investigation, information was received about the cannabis smuggling gang. Kazhakoottam Cyber City SH under the leadership of ACP Mr. Hari CS, Mr.O Praveen J.S, SIs Mr. Mithun, Mr. Jinu, Mr. Tulsidharan Nair, Mr. Ashokan SCP PO Mr. Baiju, CP Mr. O Prabheen and special team members SIs Mr. Yashodharan and Mr. Arun Kumar, ASI Mr. Sabu, SCPOs Mr. Sajikumar, Mr. Vinod, Mr. Vinod B., Mr. Lajan, Mr. Manikandan, Mr. Vinod and C.P were part of the investigating team. The accused were nabbed by a police team comprising Mr. Ranjith, Mr. Prashant and Mr. Shibu.
