Bihar, Bhagalpur: In a major breakthrough, Bihar Police successfully dismantled an inter-state cyber fraud syndicate, arresting a total of 10 individuals, including the gang’s mastermind, from the Barari police station area in Bhagalpur district. This operation marks a significant achievement in the ongoing crackdown on cybercrime across state lines.
During the extensive raid, the police confiscated a substantial amount of incriminating evidence. This included 38 mobile phones used for various fraudulent activities, 44 SIM cards likely procured under false identities to evade detection, and 34 ATM cards linked to multiple bank accounts that were presumably used for siphoning off money from victims’ accounts.
Additionally, the police recovered Rs 73,500 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of their illicit activities, and 72.38 grams of gold, possibly acquired through their fraudulent schemes. Other digital and physical evidence related to their operations was also seized, further helping authorities in unraveling the full scale of the syndicate’s operations.
This gang is suspected to be involved in large-scale cyber frauds that target individuals across various states, employing sophisticated techniques to carry out financial frauds, identity theft, and other online scams. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are probing deeper into the gang’s network to apprehend more members and trace the total amount of financial fraud committed by them.
