West Champaran, Bihar, October 27, 2025: In a major success against illegal liquor smuggling, the Bihar Police seized a large consignment of 1128 litres of foreign liquor during a joint operation conducted by the Gaunaha Police Station and the Technical Branch of Bettiah in West Champaran District.
Acting on a credible tip-off, police teams intercepted two Bolero vehicles transporting 122 cartons of foreign liquor. During the operation, one accused was arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend others involved in the smuggling network.
The swift and coordinated action by the police dealt a significant blow to illegal liquor rackets operating in the region. The seized liquor and vehicles have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Excise Act.
Senior police officials appreciated the prompt and efficient efforts of the Gaunaha Police and Technical Branch teams in curbing illegal liquor transportation and reaffirmed that Bihar Police remains committed to enforcing the state’s liquor prohibition laws and ensuring a crime-free society.
