Anakapalli Rural, Andhra Pradesh, January 28: In a significant development in a bike theft case, the accused has been awarded a jail sentence by the court, following a strong and effective investigation by the Anakapalli Rural Police. District Superintendent of Police, Shri Tuhin Sinha, IPS, congratulated Sub-Inspector G. Ravikumar of Anakapalli Rural Police Station and his team for their commendable efforts in securing the conviction.
As part of the investigation into the bike theft case registered within the jurisdiction of Anakapalli Rural Police Station, SI G. Ravikumar collected and presented solid and reliable evidence before the court. Based on the evidence and arguments, the prosecution successfully proved the offence.
Smt. Nikita Sengar, XIII Additional Judicial Magistrate of Anakapalli, pronounced the judgment and sentenced the accused, Shontini Gangadhar, to one year and six months (18 months) of simple imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹1,000, with an additional one month of imprisonment in default of payment.
District SP Shri Tuhin Sinha, IPS, stated that effective investigation and timely filing of charge sheets with strong evidence play a crucial role in ensuring punishment for offenders. He appreciated the professionalism and dedication of the investigating officer and assured that police personnel who display excellence in duty will continue to be encouraged and recognized.
On this occasion, the police also appealed to the public to remain vigilant about the safety of their vehicles, reiterate that those involved in theft and other crimes will not escape the law.
