North and Middle Andaman: The team of Police Station Mayabunder and Diglipur once again cracked a theft case within 3 hours of registration and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen bike. A criminal case was registered at Police Station Mayabunder on the complaint of Mr. A.J. Ajay Nair S/o Ajit Nair R/o Webi, Mayabunder on theft of his motorcycle bearing registration number AN-O1 K-2816. All the Police Stations of North and Middle Andaman District was alerted. The same information was further disseminated to the informers of Police, mechanic shop and workers of fuel outlet. Due to swift and timely action by the Police, an information was received at Police Station Diglipur that one person namely Suroj Mazumder hurled down the stolen motorcycle at the Govt. Petrol Pump, Diglipur and escaped from there. Soon Police team of Police Station Diglipur reached the Petrol pump and recovered the stolen bike and after an exhaustive search of two hours the Police staffs of Diglipur succeeded in apprehending the accused namely Suroj Mazumder S/o Ravi Mazumder (22) yrs, R/o Subash Gram, Diglipur behind the jungle of his house. The entire search was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Lakshya Pandey, DANIPS, SDPO, Diglipur and overall supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS Superintendent of Police North and Middle Andaman District.
