Bilaspur: Based on the Tip-off received by the City Police that the accused was attempting to sell illegal liquor a raid was conducted and the accused identified as Vivek Khatik s/o Santosh Khatik aged 23 of Bilaspur was arrested and 31 quarters of Desi plain liquor (5.580 bulk liters) worth Rs.2970 was recovered from his possession. A case was registered against the accused person.
Action is being taken against illegal intoxication under “Operation Prahar” on the instructions of Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh. – Under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Umesh Kashyap and City Superintendent of Police (City Kotwali) Pooja Kumar (IPS), Police Station Incharge City Kotwali Inspector S.R. Sahu deployed informers. On 03.08.24, information was received from an informer that a person was looking for a customer near Tikrapara with country made plain liquor in a white sack. After preparing the informer’s Panchnama, a raid was conducted along with the staff and witnesses. Accused Vivek Khatik was caught with 31 quarters of country made plain liquor which is 5.580 bulk liters worth Rs.2970. The accused was duly arrested and sent on judicial remand.
