Ferozepur: In a landmark achievement in the fight against organized crime, the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has successfully apprehended five individuals, including the notorious mastermind Sunil Bhandari, alias Nata. These arrests come as a significant blow to the criminal underworld, as the accused were implicated in numerous heinous crimes, notably three recent brutal killings in Ferozepur.
Sunil Bhandari, widely recognized as Nata, had been the orchestrator behind a particularly shocking broad daylight murder that took place on July 31, 2024. His gang, notorious for their ruthlessness, had been evading law enforcement until their dramatic capture. Acting on a critical intelligence tip-off, AGTF operatives were able to intercept the gang early in the morning near the National Highway in Rajpura. The criminals were traveling in two SUVs, likely planning further criminal activities.
During the operation, law enforcement officers seized five pistols loaded with 40 live cartridges, in addition to the two vehicles used by the gang. The swift and decisive action of the AGTF not only led to the arrest of these dangerous individuals but also thwarted potential future crimes that were likely being planned.
This successful operation underscores the commitment of the Punjab Police to dismantle organized crime networks. Under the strategic leadership and directives of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, the police force is intensifying efforts to eradicate such criminal elements from the state, ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. The arrest of Nata and his accomplices marks a significant victory in this ongoing battle against crime.
