Rachakonda: On the morning of 08.07.2024, based on credible information, DI Meerpet and his crime team apprehended notorious house burglars at Almasguda, Meerpet. Using technical evidence from the crime scene, they recovered stolen properties with the assistance of the accused. After completing all legal formalities, the accused were arrested and produced before the Honorable Court/Juvenile Justice Board.
The arrested individuals were identified as Vallepu Jithender alias Jithu, Rapolu Chandhu alias Krishna, Rapolu Srisailam alias Chinna, and a CCL. The police recovered 125 grams of gold ornaments, 450 grams of silver articles, an iron rod, and a Shine bike used in the commission of offenses, all valued at Rs.12 lakhs.
Vallepu Jithender alias Jithu, Rapolu Chandhu alias Krishna, Rapolu Srisailam alias Chinna, and the CCL are habitual and notorious property offenders. Previously, Vallepu Jithender was apprehended for property offenses in Vanasthalipuram, while Rapolu Chandhu and the CCL were apprehended for house burglary cases in Medipally, Meerpet. After their release from judicial custody, they continued their criminal activities, involving Rapolu Srisailam in their plans. Due to financial difficulties and addiction to bad habits like drinking and smoking, they conspired to commit house burglaries. They executed three house burglary offenses within the limits of Meerpet and Hayath Nagar police stations in Rachakonda Commissionerate.
Their modus operandi involved scouting colonies at night on Vallepu Jithender’s Shine bike, selecting locked houses, and breaking into them. While Rapolu Srisailam and the CCL kept watch outside, Vallepu Jithender and Rapolu Chandhu entered the houses by breaking the main door locks and stealing gold, silver ornaments, and cash from almirahs.
On 01.07.2024, the police received a complaint from Sri Chinthoju Ramesh of Ranga Reddy district. He reported that on 28.06.2024, he had locked his house and gone to Wanaparthy with his family. Upon returning on 01.07.2024, he found that unknown offenders had broken into his house, scattered household items, and stolen gold chains, earrings, gold rings, a silver plate, silver bowls, leg anklets, and cash. The SHO Meerpet registered a case based on this complaint.
The accused confessed to two cases registered at Hayath Nagar Police Station and one at Meerpet Police Station. Vallepu Jithender has a prior crime history at Vanasthalipuram Police Station, while Rapolu Chandhu has nine cases at Medipally Police Station. The CCL has nine previous criminal cases, with seven registered at Medipally Police Station and two at Meerpet Police Station.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. CH. Praveen Kumar, IPS, DCP LB Nagar Zone, and Mr. P. Kashi Reddy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Vanasthalipuram Division. The operation was led by Mr. K Nagaraju, Inspector of Police, with the assistance of Mr. Y G Naidu, Detective-Inspector of Police, Mr. B Nagaraju, HC, and PCs S Nagesh, A Shivaraj, P Yellaiah, Y Vijay Kumar Reddy, G Anilraj, Naveen Kumar, Raja Reddy, and Prakashgoud.
