The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Garrison Engineer (AGE/Contract) employed at the Office of Garrison Engineer, MES, Kota (Rajasthan) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.1,10,000 from the complainant. The arrest follows a case filed against the accused, who was accused of seeking Rs.1,50,000 for processing pending bills and an additional Rs.10,000 for extending the complainant’s previous tenders.
CBI initiated a sting operation, apprehending the accused in the act of demanding and receiving Rs.1,10,000 as a bribe or undue advantage from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the accused’s office and residential premises in Kota (Rajasthan) and Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh), leading to the discovery of incriminating documents. The arrested individual is set to appear in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jaipur (Rajasthan) on 7.12.2023.
