Rachakonda: Government Whip and Alair MLA Ms. Ghongidi Sunita Mahender Reddy and CP Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS has inaugurated 70 Community CCTV Cameras installed at a cost of rupees eleven lakhs (11 Lakhs) at Masaipeta Village of Yadgirigutta Police Station of Alair Assembly constituency on Monday, July 19, 2021. Speaking to the media, CP stated that CCTV is a third eye which will help the Police in detecting the crime in less time. As per the International norms, the ratio of Police per 1 lakh population is 243. But now it is only 140 in our country, CP added. CP expressed that more people will join the Police department in the near future as job notifications for 20,000 police personnel is underway in Telangana State. CP also stated that CCTVS are helping the Police in solving/detecting of 70 percent of cases and mentioned that innocents are being saved from false allegations with the help of CCTVS. He further stated that technical evidence from CCTV footage has greatly helped in the increase of crime conviction percentage. CP stated that CCTVS installed at the village level are connected to PSS at Mandal level in Yadadri Zone. CP commended the donors for contributing 70 CCTVS in a single village and also urged neighboring villages to consider Masaipeta village as a model village in terms of installing community CCTV cameras and replicate the same in their villages.
Ms. Gongidi Sunitha Mahender Reddy, Government Whip and MLA of Alair constituency addressed the media and thanked the donors for arranging the Community CCTVS in the village. She opined that CCTVs in the village act as deterrence & play a vital role in keeping the villages crime-free.
Mr. Narayana Reddy, DCP Yadadri, ACP Mr. Narasimha Reddy, ACP Mr. Srinivas, and other dignitaries of the village were also present at the inauguration.
