Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur: In a commendable operation led by Chakarbhatha Police, two individuals were arrested from Ward No. 09, Verma Mohalla, Bhathapara, for illegally storing 132 liters of Mahua liquor worth Rs.27,000 with the intention to sell.
During the raid, police also seized and destroyed nearly 1000 kilograms of fermented Mahua Lahan and ready-to-use dried Mahua mixed with jaggery, effectively dismantling a significant illegal brewing setup.
The accused have been identified as:
Sunil Verma (29), son of Rajesh Verma
Pratap Verma (30), son of Balbhadra Verma
Both are residents of Verma Mohalla, Ward No. 09, Bhathapara Chakarbhatha Camp, under Chakarbhatha Police Station, District Bilaspur.
The successful action was carried out under the direction of senior police officials by a dedicated team led by Inspector Uttam Sahu, with Head Constable Amar Chandra and Constables Satpuran Jangde, Govardhan Sharma, Bhagwat Chandrakar, Ramkumar Baghel, Yogendra Khute, Praveen Pankaj, and Rakesh Sah.
This decisive move underscores the Bilaspur Police’s firm commitment to eliminating illegal liquor operations and maintaining law and order in the district.
