Chamoli: In compliance with the order of the Superintendent of Police Chamoli, Mrs. Shweta Choubey IPS to take legal action for the arrest of the absconding accused/criminals, the Kotwali Chamoli police arrested the wanted accused, who was absconding for four months.
On 23.9.2021, a woman residing under the revenue post-Bura Tehsil Ghat Chamoli came to the revenue post-Bura and informed that Bharat Singh alias Laxman Singh, resident-Bura entered her house during the night, molested, assaulted, abused, and threatened her with death. On the said information, the revenue post-Bura registered a complaint against Bharat Singh alias Laxman Singh. After which the investigation of the above charge was transferred from Revenue Police to Kotwali Chamoli as per rules. Due to the serious nature of the case related to the woman, a police team was formed at the police station level under the direction of the Superintendent of Police Chamoli to arrest the above accused. In order to arrest the accused Bharat Singh(30), the police team raided his house and possible locations.
After which, based on the information of Kushal Suragarasi Patarsi and surveillance of the police team, it came to the notice that the accused is currently hiding somewhere in Joshimath. With the help of Joshimath police, the accused Bharat Singh was arrested from Joshimath on 7.1.2022. After arrest, the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court and sent to jail. The police teams involved in the arrest of the accused are woman Sub-Inspector Ms. Poonam Khatri, Head Constable Mr. Jagjit, Kan. Banveer, and Joshimath Police, Team.
