Champawat, Uttarakhand: Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Shri Ajay Ganpati and under the supervision of Circle Officer Champawat, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Sharda Barrage Banbasa, carried out a surprise intensive checking drive in several hotels across the Banbasa–Tanakpur area.
During the inspections, no cases of immoral activities, suspicious persons, objects, or human trafficking were found, reflecting the vigilance and preventive action of the police.
Hotel owners and managers were instructed to:
* Immediately inform AHTU or the nearest police station if minors or suspicious persons request accommodation.
* Collect valid identity proof from all visitors.
* Maintain proper visitor registers with complete details.
This proactive initiative by Champawat Police emphasizes their commitment to preventing human trafficking and ensuring public safety.
