Chandigarh: The Crime Branch of the Chandigarh Police while cracking the whip on the drug peddlers on 29.5.2020 headed by SI Ashok Kumar under the supervision of Inspector Mr. Harinder Sekhon and with the close guidance of Mr.Rajiv Kumar Ambasta DSP, Crime has succeeded in apprehending one drug peddler namely Amit Sethi son of late Mr. Vijay Sethi residing at Flat No.2, GH 2, MDC Sec51, Panchkula.
While this team was on patrolling duty in the area of Police IT Park, Chandigarh with an intention to prevent and control crime near the parking area DT Mall, IT Park, Chandigarh.
At about 6 PM one person coming on foot from DT Mall, IT Park towards near parking of Lalit Hotel IT Park and on seeing the Police party he stopped and turned back. On the basis of suspicion, he was stopped and during the search of the white color bag he was carrying in his right hand, Heroin wrapped in white polythene was recovered, and on weighing it was found to be weighing 29 grams. A case with FIR number 130 dated 29.5.2020 under section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police station Sec-ITP Chandigarh has been registered against him.
When the previous criminal record of the accused, Amit Shah was checked it was found that 2 cases were already registered against him. 1case of 21 NDPS Act in PS 11 and 1 case of Arms Act in PS 17.
Name is Amit Sethi, Father name is Late Vijay Sethi, the present address is Flat No.2, GH 2, MDC Sec51, Panchkula, Age is 43 years, qualification is 10th, Profession is unemployed.
Today the accused was produced before the hon’ble court from where he was sent to judicial custody by the court. The investigation of the case is being carried out.
