Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted a Road Safety Awareness Drive at AP Chowk, Chandigarh. The road safety awareness cell made awareness regarding the importance of wearing proper safety headgear (helmet), Unnecessary Honking and its effect, No Honking in Silence Zone, Not to drive/park motor vehicles on cycle track/footpath, to switch off their engines while they waited for the signal to turn green as this helps in saving fuel and decreasing Environment pollution, Cyclists to follow Traffic lights on slip roads/Intersections & move on dedicated track & and ply their cycle/rickshaw/rehri on the area marked with cycle track/yellow line on the road. They were also made aware about Good Smartarian. During this drive, 30 No Honking stickers and Reflective Tapes 40 were distributed among them.
