Madurai: In Madurai city the Chitrai festival is being conducted and on 18.4.2019 the 11th day of the festival, the chariot event took place. The Madurai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Davidson Devaaseervadam(IPS) deployed 3000 police officers and police personal for the security of the chariot and the chariot went through four streets without any hindrance and in all the four streets put together there were 150 CCTV cameras installed and the police were watchful to see and prevent any untoward incident from happening. An album was prepared consisting of 2000 photographs of men and women with past criminal record and were distributed to 20 groups of the crime branch which consisted of 200 crime police personal and they kept a continuous and close watch on the movements of these criminals and ensured that incidents of crimes were avoided.
