Chennai: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) took up the case in Vellore and Thiruvannamalai districts on 4.4.2022 in connection with the irregularities in the procurement of paddy in Vellore, Ranipettai and Thiruvannamalai districts at the direct paddy procurement centers operating under the Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation.
Mahesh, aged 43, was arrested and remanded in judicial custody on 24.5.2022 in connection with the Vellore CPCIT Crime No.1 / 2022 case registered in the Vellore District by the Criminal Investigation Department on 4.4.2022. So far 10 accused comprising of 9 individuals and 1 government official have been arrested in the case.
Further, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 24.5.2022 in connection with the Thiruvannamalai CPCIT Crime No. 1/2022 case registered in the Thiruvannamalai District has caused a loss to the State by misappropriating paddy.S.R. Gopinath,(45), Regional Manager, TNCSC, Tirunelveli (formerly TNCSC) was arrested and sent to court custody. So far 6 accused comprising of 3 individuals and 3 government officials have been arrested in this case.
