<![CDATA[Chennai: The Chennai city police arrested the accused and rescued his wife from a location in Ooty on Monday. This step was taken after a complaint was filed by Tamil film actor, Mr. Srinivasan stating that his wife was kidnapped, a senior police officer said. In his complaint to the police Mr. Srinivasan said that he had been invited to meet a producer in Coimbatore to discuss about a film but on reaching the location he and his wife were kept confined in a hotel room. The actor somehow managed to escape from captivity and came to Chennai to meet his children. He then requested the police to rescue his wife from the abductors. A special police team rescued Ms. Julie. He claims to be a medical practitioner-turned- financier. He was arrested by the Central Crime Branch in 2013 on charges of cheating a loan applicant from Andhra Pradesh by taking Rs.50 lakh commission to secure him a bank loan of Rs.20 crore. ]]>
