Chennai: During the curfew announced on 25.06.2021 with some relaxation by the Tamil Nadu government in order to prevent the spread of corona infection, 399 cases were registered and 430 vehicles were confiscated for violating the corona curfew rules.
Cases have been registered against 1,305 persons who did not wear masks and 42 persons who did not observe social space. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the Government of Tamil Nadu has issued a complete curfew from 10.5.2021.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the curfew will continue from 21.6.2021 to 5.7.2021 with some relaxation. Based on the above, by order of Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Sankar Jiwal, IPS, IGP, various arrangements have been made to intensify the entire curfew with proper relaxation.
Among them, 13 border vehicle check posts in 12 police district boundaries in Chennai metropolis and all police station boundaries are classified into sectors and appropriate action is being taken against the public and motorists who do not have e-registration by setting up and monitoring appropriate roadblocks and vehicle check posts.
Following this, during the vehicle inspection and patrol monitoring conducted by the Chennai Metropolitan Police on 25.6.2021, 399 cases were registered in connection with the violation of the corona curfew in the Chennai metropolis. A total of 430 vehicles, including 410 two-wheelers and 20 autos, were seized in connection with the incident. In addition, 1,305 cases of non-wearing of face masks and 42 cases of non-observance of social space were registered. The public is requested by the Chennai Metropolitan Police to follow the curfew guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu to prevent corona infection.
