Chennai: On the orders of Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Sankar Jiwal, IPS, various special schemes are being implemented for the safety and welfare of the public. The Chennai Metropolitan Police has been working hard to protect the public by following the guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu to prevent the spread of corona infection in time.
In the run-up to Diwali, the public is increasingly flocking to markets and malls to buy pottery and goods, as well as bus and train stations to travel abroad. With this in mind, various security arrangements have been made on behalf of the Chennai Metropolitan Police. Various special security arrangements will be made on behalf of the Chennai Metropolitan Police from 29.10.2021 to the night of 04.11.2021 at various places in Chennai, including T Nagar, Pondy Bazar, Purasaivakkam, Mylapore, Pookadai, Washermenpet, Koyambedu, Tambaram, Chrompet, where the public can buy pottery and other items.
The security arrangements have been done at the places where people assemble in large numbers like Koyambedu Public Bus Stand, Purasaivakkam, Washermenpet MG Road, The Nagar, Tambaram Railway Station, Tambaram Temporary Bus Stand, Poonamallee Temporary Bus Stand, KK Nagar Temporary Bus Stand, the police are using the mobile X-ray Baggage scanner vehicle recently provided to the Chennai Metropolitan Police to scan the belongings brought by the public from 29.10.2021 to 04.11.2021 in the bus stand areas.
The BDDS trained guards are employed in 2 shifts for this purpose. This security check will be conducted by the police personal till the end of the Diwali festival.
