Chennai: The 2008 Batch IPS officer Ms. R.V. Ramya Bharathi, who is posted as the Joint Commissioner of Chennai city North Zone, decided to ride on her cycle to surprise the policemen on patrol on Thursday.
The woman officer in plain clothes along with her Personal Security Officer (PSO), who was also on another cycle, travelled for about Nine Kilometres. She started at 2.45 am and completed her Night Patrolling at 4.15 am.
The officer started from Wallajah point, Muthusamy Bridge, Raja Annamalai Mandram, Esplanade Road, Kuralagam, NSC Bose Road, Govindappa Naicken Street, Audiappa Naicken Street, Mint junction, Wall Tax Road, Moolakothalam Junction, Stanley Nagar subway.
Meenambal Nagar Bridge, Ennore High Road, RK Nagar, Vaithiyanathan Bridge, Elaiya Mudali Street, Kailasam Street, Seniyamman Koil Street, Tondiarpet and Thiruvottiyur High Road.
The officer examined the police patrol vehicles and entered her visit in their ledger.
