Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav engaged with the Madhya Pradesh Police dog squad stationed at his residence, particularly caressing Lali and Dolly, two well-trained canines assigned to security duty. During this interaction, he inquired about the squad’s training methods, health monitoring systems, and overall preparedness, offering necessary guidelines to enhance their effectiveness.

It is significant to note that the Madhya Pradesh Police dog squad plays a crucial role in the Chief Minister’s security arrangements, operating in designated shifts to ensure continuous vigilance. The squad’s headquarters is located in the 23rd Battalion in Bhopal, where dogs of various breeds, including German Shepherds, Dobermans, and Labradors, undergo rigorous training. Recently, Indian breeds have also been incorporated into the force to further diversify their capabilities.

The training program is designed to specialize in scent recognition, obedience, and tracking—enabling the canines to locate criminals, detect explosives, and assist in finding missing persons. These highly skilled dogs undergo systematic drills to respond swiftly to commands and adapt to various operational scenarios. In addition to their intensive training, a structured health monitoring system is in place to ensure their fitness and well-being. Regular checkups, dietary supervision, and veterinary care are integral to maintaining their optimal performance.

On Tuesday, before departing for Omkareshwar, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav took a moment to interact with the police personnel and the dog squad present at his residence. As a demonstration of their training, Lali and Dolly responded to commands and greeted the Chief Minister with discipline and agility, showcasing their obedience and readiness. Their efficiency and dedication reflect the high standards maintained by the Madhya Pradesh Police dog squad, reinforcing their vital contribution to law enforcement and security operations.
