Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: As part of a nationwide initiative led by the Ministry of Home Affairs to combat drug abuse, the Chikkamagaluru Police Department organized the District-Level NARCO Coordination (NCORD) Committee’s monthly meeting at the District Police Office.
The meeting was chaired by Superintendent of Police Shri Vikram Amate, IPS, and focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination for drug control and awareness, as well as preparations to observe International Anti-Drug Day.
Representatives and officers from various departments, including Police, Intelligence, Forest, Health, Education, Excise, Revenue, Social Welfare, Prisons, Drug Control, Horticulture, Tourism, Labour, and Postal Services, along with advisors from the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, actively participated in the session.
The meeting emphasized a unified strategy to curb drug abuse, implement preventive awareness campaigns, enhance rehabilitation efforts, and improve inter-agency collaboration at the district level. Chikkamagaluru Police remains committed to building a drug-free society through continuous vigilance, education, and enforcement.
