Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: In a dedicated effort to strengthen child protection mechanisms, a bi-monthly review meeting on the functioning of District Child Special Police Units was held today at the Chikkamagaluru District Police Office. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jayakumar C.T., Additional Superintendent of Police, Chikkamagaluru District.
Key stakeholders including Senior Child Welfare Officers/Deputy Superintendent of Police from Chikkamagaluru Sub-Division, the Chairman of the Child Welfare Committee, Members of the Juvenile Justice Board, Superintendents of Children’s Homes, officials from the District Child Protection Unit, Child Helpline staff, and Child Welfare Officers from all police stations actively participated in the meeting.
The gathering focused on reviewing ongoing efforts, identifying challenges, and enhancing coordination between departments to ensure the safety, rehabilitation, and welfare of children in need of care and protection. This initiative underscores the police department’s commitment to child rights and inter-agency collaboration for a safer society.
