Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: The closing ceremony of the Chikkamagaluru District Police Annual Sports Meet-2025 was held with great enthusiasm and discipline today at the Police Parade Ground, showcasing the spirit of fitness, teamwork and camaraderie among police personnel.
Smt. Meena Nagaraj C. N., IAS, Honorable District Collector, graced the occasion as the chief guest and appreciated the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and unity within the police force.
The District Armed Reserve (DAR) team emerged as the overall team champions. In individual events, Mr. Prasanna G. K., A.P.C., DAR, won the men’s individual championship, while Ms. Atmiya, M.P.C., Koppa Police Station, secured the women’s individual championship. The meet featured various competitive and recreational events, including the 100-metre race and the Tug-of-War finals, which drew enthusiastic participation and applause.
Following an impressive march-past, prizes were distributed to the winners, and mementos were presented to the judges in recognition of their contribution. The ceremony concluded on a solemn and patriotic note with a retreat performance by the police band, culminating in the rendition of the National Anthem.
The successful conduct of the sports meet highlighted the Chikkamagaluru District Police’s commitment to fostering fitness, discipline and morale among its personnel.
