Alappuzha: A young woman, hailing from Bengal and employed as an IT professional in Bangalore, was saved from drowning in a powerful current at Mararikulam beach in Alappuzha. Despite being 20 meters from the shore, she encountered difficulties while bathing in the sea. The Coastal Police and Coastal Wardens, who were on duty at the beach, undertook a daring rescue mission.
The unconscious woman was successfully brought to the shore, where artificial respiration was administered. Following her regaining consciousness, she was swiftly transported to Vandanam Medical College Hospital via ambulance. Expressing gratitude and describing the incident as her “second birth,” the young woman extended her thanks to GSI Albert, CPO Vipin Vijay, and Coastal Wardens Cyrus, Jerome, Marshall, and Joseph for their crucial role in saving her life. The timely intervention of the Coastal Police and Wardens proved instrumental in preserving this precious life.
