Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, within the jurisdiction of Dudiyalur police station a series of crimes were committed such as cannabis sales and within the jurisdiction of Alandurai police station Kandasamy alias Kutty of Nallam Estate, who was involved in a murder case was committing the crimes. On the recommendation of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Mr. Selva Nagaratnam IGP, to take action against Kandasamy Kutty of Nallam Estate under the Prevention of Thugs Act.
An order was passed by Coimbatore District Magistrate to take action against Kandasamy Kutty under the Prevention of Thugs Act. Coimbatore District Collector Mr. Sameeran IAS issued an order to take action under the Anti-Thugs Act against Kandasamy Kutty. According to the order, Kandasamy Kutty was arrested and imprisoned under the Prevention of Thugs Act.
