<![CDATA[The Washermanpet police arrested four students from Presidency College after the video went viral on Thursday of students having swords in their hands and were travelling aboard an MTC bus shouting slogans praising Presidency College. Their route was also found on social media. After the incident the police registered a case and it was found out that the bus route was 57F, operating between Karanodai and Broadway. During investigation they identified the location as Mint. The police also identified the students and apprehended four of them. Cases were registered against them under section 143 (unlawful assembly), section 147 (rioting), section 294 (obscene act and songs) and section 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation). They have been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days. A video showing the four college students and their parents in the Washermanpet police station. It was released by the police on Friday. One of the parent rebukes his son for getting involved in such incidents. The students are also seen apologizing to a senior police officer. A police officer said that their parents were informed and they came to the police station and severely rebuked their wards. A police officer said that it is with great difficulty the parents send their children to college, however the students fall into bad company and get involved in such activities. In the meantime the Police Commissioner visited Presidency College on Friday morning and spoke to the students. He narrated how he got into civil services after much struggle and hard work. He advised them to pursue what they are passionate about. He told the students to use their energy positively. He said to the students that they should stay away from drugs and protests.
