Rachakonda: Today Inauguration of Community CCTV Cameras By Mrs. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy Education Minister and Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS at Gayatri Hills community hall, Badangpet.
As a part of expanding Community CCTV cameras network across Rachakonda Commissionerate, today Hon’ble Education Minister Mrs. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, inaugurated 100 Community CCTV Cameras installed in 3 colonies of Badangpet Municipal corporation area (Gayatri Hills community hall, Badangpet In the limits of Meerpet Police Station ) with a cost of Rs.14,50,000/-.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest Mrs.Sabitha Indra Reddy said CCTVS play a key role in catching the offenders red-handedly and this speeds up the investigation process too. The CCTV cameras help the police in identifying people participating in the crime, their style committing the offense, which makes the investigation, even more, easier, and justice can be delivered quickly, and also 1 CCTV is equal to 100 police officers. It was a great initiative where the citizens with the help of police came forward and installed CCTV cameras for the security of all citizens. She also applauded the Mayor and Corporaters for taking the initiation to install CCTV cameras under the Badangpet municipality. She made an appeal to the public to join hands for Safer Rachakonda and also appealed to the local public representatives to ensure the installation of more cameras in the remaining colonies of Badangpet municipality and keep it at the top position in the state. Minister Mrs. Sabita Indra Reddy specially recognized the good work of SHO Meerpet and the team in the rescue of citizens from the flood in recent rains. The Police are doing good work and that has to be put on record Madam said. Madam also ensured the installation of CCTV cameras in the Maheshvaram Assembly segment with the cooperation of citizens, Government, and non-government organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has said, CCTV cameras became an important aspect of modern-day policing, and almost 67% of the crimes are being detected. He urged the citizens and public representatives to come forward and install more cameras in their respective areas. He appealed to the Mayor and other public representatives to make the Badangpet Municipality the first one to have a 100% CCTV network coverage area. The CP Rachakonda too recognized the good work of Meerpet police in rescue and relief operation during recent rains.
These cameras were installed at strategic locations covering the entry and exits, main routes, and crime-prone areas of the localities. As of today, there are 317 Community CC Cameras and 3106 Nenu Saitham Cameras have been installed under the limits of Meerpet Police Station. In the recent past, Snatching cases, a house burglary, and robbery cases were detected through CCTV footage and recovered property.
