Recently, the 4th batch of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) platoon from 1st Bn. MAP underwent a comprehensive week-long training program on ‘Disaster Management.’ The training was conducted from 17th to 21st April at the Battalion Headquarters located at Armed Veng, Aizawl, and was designed to equip the personnel with essential skills required to handle disasters and emergency situations.
During the training, the 20 participants were imparted with knowledge on various aspects of disaster management, including Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Medical First Responder (MFR), and other important topics. The training aimed to prepare the SDRF personnel to handle disasters effectively and efficiently, minimizing the loss of life and property.
Apart from classroom sessions, the training program also included practical exercises and drills to simulate real-life disaster scenarios. The participants were put through rigorous drills and simulations to ensure that they were well-prepared to handle any emergency situation.
The highlight of the training program was a mock exercise/drill on earthquake disaster, which was conducted at the 1st MAP English Medium School in Aizawl. The drill aimed to test the skills and preparedness of the SDRF personnel in handling disaster situations.
The training concluded on a successful note, and the participants received praise for their dedication and hard work. The efforts put in by the 1st Bn. MAP team to ensure that their personnel are well-prepared to handle disasters are commendable and should be replicated by all battalions to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.
