Hyderabad City: As part of the ongoing preparations for Ganesh immersion, Milad, and other upcoming events next week, City Police Commissioner Mr. CV Anand visited the South East Zone first, followed by the East Zone on September 12, 2024. He noted that both zones are particularly sensitive due to their diverse and mixed populations.
Commissioner Anand encouraged officers to feel supported and free in their duties, stressing the importance of vigilance against unscrupulous and communal elements. He advised counseling and binding over individuals likely to disrupt communal harmony. Officers were urged to stay motivated, firm in their responsibilities, and mentally prepared for any situation, with the assurance that the Commissioner would stand by them in their efforts.
Special Branch (SB) officers briefed senior officials on recent incidents and outlined challenges, particularly those affecting the smooth movement of the Ganesh idol processions. Specific instructions were given to ensure procession vehicles adhere to designated routes suitable for the height of the idols, engage actively with the community, and address other operational concerns for the upcoming events.
Traffic officers were directed to maintain lane decongestion and ensure the smooth flow of processions.
